West Avenue Cider Wedding | Jenn and Nick

Something I’m really proud of as a wedding planner is when my fellow wedding pros trust in me to plan and coordinate their wedding day. So I was beyond excited when my super talented photographer buddy Jenn Kavanagh reached out to be a part of her and Nick’s big day.

As wedding pros we know nothing every goes perfectly according to plan. Jenn had a unique perspective as a bride, given that she has photographed dozens —if not hundreds— of weddings now. She had the very difficult task of planning in a pandemic while also experiencing it as a wedding professional, and the way she had imagined things would be.

With gathering limits in place, Jenn and Nick decided to have had an intimate ceremony in 2020 on their original wedding date. Then we pivoted and planned their reception for their friends and family in August 2021 at at West Avenue Cider in Hamilton (Flamborough), Ontario.

They’re a laid back adventure-loving couple and it showed in their reception at West Avenue. Thank goodness, because Mother Nature through us a couple curve balls, but these two went with the flow. I love that even though we had blush details in their decor, the design overall felt sweet and laidback, fitting for both of them. We had some amazing decor vendors; Quill & Oak, Simply Beauitful Decor, Guelph Tents.

One detail I absolutely love from their wedding day is that Jenn & Nick sat in a vintage lounge area by Tufts & Toile during the speeches and toasts so that they could be closer to their speakers. And it turned out so perfectly. I love how those moments turned out, captured by Tamara Lockwood Photography.
