As a starry-eyed bride and wedding pro, I’ve seen wedding shows from both sides. I’ve visited and exhibited at them all. Your typical national or local convention centre, high-end luxury at slick downtown venues, and boutique regional shows.
Don’t get me wrong, because I met some of my fave clients way back when with a little table at a pipe-and-drape show. But over time, I realized those shows are totally overwhelming with the in your face sales pitches by some vendors, and the confusing promotions. Not to mention disappointed by the general lack of creativity. It was not the ideal place to connect with clients I love to insta-stalk years after they walk down the aisle. Those couples I wanted to meet, were rushing through, afraid to talk to anyone for fear of being sold something they don’t want or need.
The luxury shows, while filled with eye candy and some lovely gift bags, are intimidating. Leaving couples feeling like they need a 6-figure budget just to approach the vendors.
What I love about meeting clients in any of these environments is the simple connection of a quick chat. There’s so much we can discuss in that brief meeting, that you won’t get from my website. In those few moments, you’ll get a better sense of who I am and whether you can trust me and stand working with me for the next year or so. And if you’re cool with me being the last person to send you down the aisle with a smile and a Kleenex tucked away. Or right up in there helping you pee in that ballgown, sewing your broken dress, and a million other things.
Having a positive connection with any of your wedding pros is SO important. We want you to feel you’ve made the right decision, investing your hard-earned money in us, for one of the biggest days of your life.
We DON’T want you to feel like you’re just a date in our calendar and another cheque in the bank.
