The Cream: Los Angeles

It's not every day that I get to hop a plane and attend one of the most amazing and unique wedding shows in North America. I'm no jet-setter but I'm lucky enough to have not one, but two friends living in Orange County and Los Angeles that I can visit and one of them is getting married this fall.

So when I passed on some info about The Cream in Los Angeles to my girl friend (and bride-to-be) Liz, she suggested I come for a visit and we attend the show together. It didn't take much convincing. I had a flight booked, plans made, less than 24 hours later.

It was great to get away from the snow here for a few days and catch up with my friends Liz and Vanessa. I might even have a hint of a tan. Came home with a new addiction to Pinkberry as well.

The Cream event was definitely the icing on the cake!

Held at Vibiana in down town Los Angeles, the venue itself is a former cathedral that has been renovated as an amazing event and performing arts space. The inside, as well as the large courtyard attached were the perfect spot for this non-traditional wedding show.

Here are just a few of the pics I snapped on my iPhone from inside.

I loved the theme for the event, and the many variations all of the different vendors came up with. Pantone colour of the year, emerald mixed with gold, navy and hints of mint and ivory.

What I loved most at this show, aside from the uh-mazing free food and beverages, was that there was not a standard pipe and drape 8' by 5' booth in sight. The vendors exhibiting came up with some really fabulous displays and vignettes. So much fun to look at. How can you not like a wedding show with a polka-dotted dance floor!?

I'll share a few more snaps next week. Anything in particular you love from the photos?
