Hey BOSS

I’m Krista Olynyk

Award-Winning Event Planner. Wedding Business Coach and Marketing Strategist. Real-talker. Self-proclaimed “indoor cat”. And mama to two turkey butts.

I built a successful wedding business while living my best #sweatpantslife and (later) wrangling two toddlers. Now I’m here to help creative wedding pros like you do the same.

I’ve been a full-time wedding planner since 2012. In other words: I’ve been where you are, and I know that some workdays are prettier than others...

I’ve survived zero-inquiry months, cried on my way to a wedding because I was missing another weekend with my kiddos, and smacked down big bucks on one-size-fits-all courses that I never finished or struggled to implement on my own.

I’ve also learned that scroll-a-thons, comparing and despairing over your competitors and trying to figure this all out on your own isn’t going to get you where you want to go.

This is where I come to the rescue, wearing my messy bun and snot-stained sweater.

(Sorry, were you expecting a cape?)

Running on Pepsi and Doritos since 2012

My business love story

At age 14, the entrepreneurial seed is planted

Rewind about 25 years, and I’ve fallen in love with the special events industry while working with one of Canada’s largest and most awarded event design and decor companies (thanks for the early education, mom!). I made a few pit stops before launching KJ & Co. in 2012—including a marketing diploma.

Take KJ & Co. full-time in under one year

Since 2012, KJ & Co. has planned over 60 weddings and been featured in Style Me Pretty, Today’s Bride, WedLuxe, and more. Cue all the blush-worthy moments, like being the recipient of the WeddingWire Couples’ Choice Award and the Hamilton Spectator Readers’ Choice Award (2014-2018).

Discover my passion for coaching

After recognizing that marketing is one of the biggest struggles for creatives, I teamed up with my biz buddies Ashley Malone and Janine Duff to launch Aisle Academy, an online course that helped wedding pros say “I do” to more clients, cash, and credibility.

Launch my own creative project, Wed Well Showcase

Unable to find a highly curated wedding show in the western GTA that wasn’t heavy on the sales pitches and pipe-and-drape stalls, I decided to create one (because apparently I don’t have enough to do). The Wed Well Showcase is not your big sister’s wedding show. All of the wedding talent is hand-picked!

MY MOTTO IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE

“You can’t manifest hard work.
