Wedding Planner Booth Ideas: 6 Real Examples + Setup Tips

After founding Wed Well Showcase, and exhibiting and attending a dozen shows even before that, I know all too well the tricky reputation that wedding shows and bridal expos have amongst wedding pros.

But I also know these shows are an incredibly important marketing channel, especially for wedding planners.

Imagine having the opportunity to connect with your dream clients in-person. Rather than always hoping they might find you on social media, or fingers crossed with Google.

The ability to make your first impression in real time, live and in-person just can’t be beat.

Wedding expos will convert differently from business to business, and category to category. As a planner, it’s the perfect time to connect with engaged couples earlier in planning.

Before we get to all the pretty inspiration for designing your booth, here’s some helpful stuff for exhibiting at wedding shows and bridal expos, from a planner and show producer who’s seen it all!:

QUICK TIPS FOR YOUR WEDDING SHOW BOOTH DESIGN

  • Have the best booth you can, but don’t overextend yourself (or your budget)

  • Don’t crowd your space—Leave room for conversation

  • When in doubt, go simple & clean (but that’s not permission to throw some business cards on a folding table)

  • Have clear signage about what service you offer—but don’t be discouraged when guests are confused about what you offer. It’s a conversation starter!

  • Speaking of conversation starters, tablescapes are great for drawing guests in, if you have the budget for rentals, linens, and florals (whenever possible collaborate with other vendors exhibiting)

  • Colours, trends, and details you love will attract clients with a similar style and taste

  • Use levels and layers to create visual interest (Don’t miss more inspiration on my Pinterest)

General TIPS FOR PARTICIPATING AT WEDDING EXPO

  • Quality over quantity, you’re there to connect with your Ideal Client, not everyone through the door

  • Be patient, it’s a marathon not a sprint

  • Have your “ice breaker” or greeting ready—aim for conversations, not sales pitch after sales pitch

  • Start a convo, encourage them to check out your website for more information, rather than pressure to book consultations (because you’re protecting your calendar, right?)

  • Some couples won’t be ready to approach you right away, make sure the shy ones can easily grab a card up front

  • Don’t feel obligated to offer discounts or giveaways

Alright, now here’s inspiration for your wedding expo booth design:
